Gilcrease Orchard

Gilcrease Orchard Pumpkins

Get those flannels and boots ready because cute pumpkin picking pictures await – Say that 10X

Yesterday I went to Gilcrease Orchard with some friends to do something that was *ahem*..FREE!! Sadly, most things today require money, so why not find things to do for free and have a great time?!? I remember coming here as a kid and having the best time with my family. So many memories picking apples.

Sadly, there were no apples to be found this time (except the rotten ones on the floor), but there were plenty of pumpkins and cucumbers for pickling. We started the day at Gilcrease with some apple cider donuts and kettle corn (addicting stuff), and then took a wagon ride around the orchard to see where we wanted to start. The highlights for us were the pumpkins and wagon ride. It was also adorable to see the kids there that were on a field trip- The smiles on their faces were priceless.

**Tip: Have the wagon drop you off in the back of the Orchard and work your way to the front.

Gilcrease might be in the middle of nowhere to some, but this 67-acre orchard is home to pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes, apples, zucchini, beets, carrots, and sweet potatoes. Depending on the time of year, some produce might be more abundant than others. The orchard is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays so don’t be showing up on a Monday expecting to take a wagon ride…
