What’s up 2018? I’m excited for you!
I cannot believe the year is coming to a close. Can you? It has been one heck of a year and I’m stoked that 2018 is near.
I want to share with you something that I have been doing for a few years that I believe in whole heartedly. Manifesting your future.
Manifesting —> My new favorite word.
There is something so valuable about writing out your dreams, goals, and ideas for the new year, so let’s talk about it.
It’s what I do every year and I 1,000% recommend you do it too. Every year, I write down all of my goals on paper because it’s freakin powerful. After watching the movie The Secret and reading countless blogs and articles on this topic, I’m addicted.
According to psychology professor Dr. Gail Mathews, “those who wrote down their goals and dreams on a regular basis achieved those desires at a significantly higher level than those who did not.”

Anyways – instead of sticking to only pen and paper, I decided to write out my goals for the new year with you on The Olive Brunette. Maybe some of these will give you an idea of what to write and I hope I inspire you to manifest your perfect year!
Let’s start, shall we? 🙂
1. Health + Wellness
I feel like these words were thrown around so many times this year. Everyone seemed to be on the health and wellness train. We are turning into a healthier country and I am ALL about it. 2018 will be my year to get into shape! Not just physically, but mentally too. I will be implementing yoga to my week which will help me focus, gain clarity, improve relaxation and reduce anxiety. Anyone else? I will also start doing more activities outside. Weather that be having a picnic in the park, taking a walk around the neighborhood, going on hikes, moving my workouts outdoors, etc…connecting to nature will be my theme of 2018.
I have recently been loving Tony Robbins. He is amazing. I listen to him during my morning routine through a podcast, while I drive, before bed… Tony and I are bff’s at this point. He just doesn’t know it yet. 🙂 I throw out his quotes left and right for people to hear because I am that obsessed. Not only has he taught me that “the quality of your life equals the quality of your emotions,” but he has taught me that my unconscious beliefs about money are keeping me from the life I really want. <3 Sit with that one for a second.
Money will come. Money will go. I will create a year that allows me to make money, but also allows me to wake up with gratitude and a smile. If there is another thing I’ve learned from Tony, it’s that abundance is a mindset and not a dollar amount.
“Trade your expectations for appreciation and your entire life changes in that moment. The lack of appreciation is the only thing that will make you truly poor.” Tony Robbins
3. Read More
Towards the end of this year I have fallen in love with reading books on business and marketing. I know, sounds totally boring. There’s something about it that I love and I find myself reading through them so fast. This year I plan on reading more books on business/marketing and I am currently setting a goal to read at least 7 on this specific topic. If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments below.
4. Fall in Love
SOO cheesy, right? I don’t care though. It’s time and I’m ready. There is not much explanation needed here. I’m ready to find my person and get married. I am adding this one to my list because I am throwing it into the universe for it to happen already.
5. Pick Up a Hobby
I got into pottery towards the end of the year which made me happy. Whether I continue with pottery or not, I want an activity during the week that I look forward to. I was thinking dance? Maybe kickboxing? What’s your hobby? I need other ideas.
I plan on traveling a lot in 2018. It’s the best for clarity in my opinion. Even if it’s just for a weekend, i’m in. You will find me in California, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New York, Florida Chicago, Israel, and Australia! Just to name a few… 🙂
7. Risking More
This will be in my life forever and always. If you’re not risking, are you really growing? Someone once told me that a comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there. It’s true. I’m going to do something risky every week which will eventually turn into every day. I know it sounds morbid, but I’ll be asking myself —> “If I died tomorrow, would I be satisfied with how I lived my life?”
Some examples of risks: Calling a stranger, stating an unfiltered opinion, book a last minute trip, speaking a foreign language with a native speaker, asking for something I think is impossible to get, take on a physical activity I did not think was possible, talk to a stranger on the street, give more than you can afford to charity, start a project you don’t think you will finish, make a decision based entirely off your gut…The list goes on.
I hope you liked what you read. Let me know in the comments if you’ll be manifesting your future. What are some things you will be doing this year? 🙂
