Emmy Awards

I talked to WHO on the Red Carpet?!?

If you know me, you know that I am OBSESSED with award shows. I don’t care what is going on the day of an awards show…I will stop everything and anyone to watch the darn thing.

This year, however, I got to go and OH-EM-GEE what a fun time.

I figured instead of making this a cheesy, “oh my gosh I got to go to the Emmy’s post” I would give you a breakdown of my day leading up to the event.

9:30am – Woke up way too early because all I could think about was getting ready for the award show. I swear I was a giddy school girl the entire morning.

10:00 – Made a quick stop at CVS for some last minute makeup essentials. The important things in life people.

10:30 –  I went to Urth Café (If you read my last post you know that this is my favorite place to eat in L.A.) I got myself some eggs on toast and a latté to keep me going for the rest of the day.

12:00 – Lord have mercy…let’s talk about L.A. traffic. We were about 2 miles away and it took sooo long to get home. Why people, why? By the time we got home I was ready for lunch.  But of course, no time for that. I did my hair and makeup instead {again, the important things in life}.

2:00 – By this time we were on the road heading towards the red carpet.

2:45 – Walking the red carpet and standing next to all of the stars was so much fun. Everyone was so friendly. Minnie Driver was my favorite person to talk to. She is just as nice in person as she is in any of her shows. I also saw Heidi Klum, Sarah Hyland, David Shwimmer, Olivia Culpo, Priyanka Chopra, Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Emily Ratajowski, Rami Malek and so many more. I can go on and on… It was crazy being amongst all of my favorite actors.

5:00 – Showtime! We had prime seats. Sat in the last row on the floor behind all of the agents, writers and directors. The show went by so fast and I could not believe it was over.

8:30 – By the time the show ended my feet were on fire. Why did I think it was a good idea to wear new shoes to this thing? Uhggg. The struggle. We hopped in an Uber and made our way to the HBO party.

9:00 –  Picture an upscale bar mitzvah (minus the rabbis, Jewish grandmothers and Hebrew music) … There were two full bars, more food than you and I can possibly eat, a makeup station, live music, photo booth, celebrities, agents, writers and journalists everywhere. It was impossible trying to take it all in.

12:15 – By the time we left my feet were very numb, but I didn’t care. I made so many unbelievable memories and had the most incredible time. Being surrounded by so much talent and amongst all of these creative people was very inspiring. The speeches that were made and the conversations that I heard reminded me that anything is possible in life as long as we have the desire and fire in our bellies to go after what we want. 100% is possible 100% of the time. It is just a matter of how badly we want it.

12:30 – I wish I could say the next day it starts all over again.

funky-pink-heart, Olive B.
