Seven Magic Mountains

Seven Magic Mountains

Las Vegas Magic Mountains

Have you heard of it? It’s magical…

Jk. To be honest, I have no idea why it’s called Seven Magic Mountains because they are not mountains. One would call them rocks. Why they added the word “magic” in there… I have no idea.

Prepare to take a little bit of a drive if you live in Vegas because this is on the way to California.

It took me about 45 minutes to get here which wasn’t too bad, but I definitely thought it was closer.

**Once you get on the I-15 South to Sloan Road (exit 25),  turn left to Las Vegas Blvd. and drive about 7 miles south. The artwork will appear on your left and believe me, you will not miss it. Just keep your eyes out for very colorful rocks and many tourists. You’ll be good to go!

So back to the magic rocks. This place is cool. I could do without the million and one tourists here taking instagram selfies, but what are ya gonna do? I was one of them too.

These rocks are HUGE and stacked on top of one another.

I think it was such a cool idea and a great addition to different touristy spots in Vegas. I had no idea why or how they did this so I decided to do some research when I got back. ⇓

Basically they say that these stone sculptures are works of art intended for your visual enjoyments. It is a two year public art installation by renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone and co-produced by the Nevada Museum of Art and Art Production Fund.

If you’re interested in visiting, be sure to go to the bathroom before as there are not bathooms there and also be sure to bring a lot of water. It can get hot out there.

Have fun taking pictures next to the rocks or even in front of the pretty desert landscape. It’s a fun time and something you should see in the near future.

If you’ve been before be sure to leave a comment on your experience. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these magical rocks!
